Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist

Doctors Eye Institute | St. Matthews – Louisville, KY

Pay: $18–$22 per hour

Schedule: Part-time (about 20 hours/week) | Flexible between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Mon–Fri only | No weekends

Doctors Eye Institute is a well-established ophthalmology and optometry practice dedicated to helping patients see clearly and live better. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our insurance and billing team in a friendly, patient-focused environment.

Schedule:

  • Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week

  • Flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM

  • Monday through Friday only. No weekends

What You Will Do:

  • Assign vision or medical insurance to claims

  • Post insurance payments and patient payments

  • File and track claims

  • Answer patient billing questions with professionalism and care

  • Maintain organized records and documentation

  • Assist with other billing or office tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with claim processing and insurance billing

  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding

  • Understanding of patient cost share and HIPAA compliance

  • Ability to work independently and stay organized

  • Clear written and spoken English

Preferred Experience:

  • Ophthalmology or eye care billing knowledge

  • Interpreting EOBs and payer remittances

  • EMR system experience

  • Familiarity with ModMed or Phreesia

  • Multi-line phone system experience

  • Microsoft Office proficiency
